France Info suspends live broadcast after bomb threat

(MENAFN) French public broadcaster France Info abruptly ended a live program on Saturday after receiving a bomb threat targeting the channel.

During the broadcast from its Paris studio, alarm sounds were heard, prompting the host, Jean-Christophe Galeazzi, who was leading a discussion on Ukrainian politics with other journalists, to announce that the show had to pause “due to a bomb threat.” Shortly afterward, the broadcast was terminated.

In a written statement, France Info confirmed that the Paris studio had been evacuated as a precaution while police launched an investigation on site. Employees were allowed to return to the building roughly two hours later once the authorities had completed their inquiry.

The incident follows a similar bomb threat made against another French network, BFMTV, just two weeks earlier.
